Obviously any topics need to be related to wildlife and the environment, but what exactly are we looking for?
The Realm is designed to be an online magazine and as a result, a variety of articles are wanted. While the basis is informative topics on animals, plants and habitats I would like this to be balanced out with more creative aspects. A picture can tell a thousand words and shows the beauty of creatures and landscapes, a short story or piece of poetry can capture the imagination taking the reader away to another place. This all helps add to the magazine giving variety for any potential readers and hopefully drawing them back. Of course, it will take time to build up the popularity of the magazine but as the number and variety of topics increase so too will the traffic through search engine and the like.
Regardless of what type of written work is being submitted, it must be written properly. An informative article with bad grammar will not help pass any message across or appear professional and educated. I (and the others in the team when needed) will do our best to read through and edit where necessary, however where it is obvious that a piece is generally badly written the article is more likely to be rejected. Photos and images enhance articles, so where possible try to include these with your submissions.
