Whaling under the disguise of research is still being conducted by Japan while Iceland and Norway don’t hide behind science and continue their commercial whaling. All three of these countries are using “loop-holes” allowed by the International Whaling Commission (IWC) rules to continue hunting whales.

Both the US House of Representatives and the US Senate have Congressional Resolutions awaiting action that would keep the pressure on the current administration to be strong on defending whales and negotiate no deals with Japan that would result in any form of commercial whaling.

For the resolution to be effective they need to go the floor, be voted on and pass. Members of Congress need to hear from you that you support these resolutions to build enough political support to get them passed.

Help expose research whaling for what it really is – commercial whaling that needs to stop. Tell your Congressional Representative and Senators to help protect whales by co-sponsoring this anti-whaling resolution and using all appropriate measures to end commercial whaling at the upcoming meeting of the IWC in Chile.
