Zeb Hogan spent a week searching the remove areas of the Mekong River in northern Cambodia for the elusive giant river stingray...only for anglers to call to say that theyhad caught one next to a bustling city! Not only had they reeled in the massive mother though, but a baby ray that was the size of a dinner plate! Only described scientifically in 1989, very little is known about the giant river stingray.

Before I read this thread (and article) properly, I was expecting the mother to be the size of the baby one. I feel a little silly now :P
