Puffins on the Isle of May, Scotland, are thought to be down to around 41,000 breeding pairs - down from 70,000 in 2003. The decline is thought to be linked to changes in the North Sea.

I read that in the paper at work. 2003 was a record high! But with the seas getting warmer etc it seems difficult to imagine them achieving those numbers again!
